
TEHRAN In an address marking the International Day versus Islamophobia, Amir Saeed Iravani, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, criticized Israel for perpetuating Islamophobia to justify its actions and policies.
He required global unity in combating spiritual discrimination and intolerance.Iravani highlighted the adoption of General Assembly resolution 76/254 as an essential action in dealing with Islamophobia, stressing the need for legal and policy measures to counter hate speech and discrimination.
He also praised the resolution on procedures to combat Islamophobia, which highlighted the significance of raising awareness and removing Islamophobia in all its forms.The ambassador revealed deep issue over the widespread anti-Muslim projects propagated through media and social platforms, noting their harmful influence on vulnerable Muslim communities.
He particularly condemned Israels actions, stating, The world continues to witness daily aggressions versus Palestinians, and highlighted that Israel is producing a link in between Islam and terrorism to justify its criminal offenses versus Palestinians.Iravani also dealt with the defamation of Islamic values and desecration of holy signs in Western nations, urging countries to criminalize such acts and participate in collective efforts to combat Islamophobia.The ambassador also declared Irans commitment to combating spiritual extremism and revealed assistance for the recently appointed Secretary-Generals Special Envoy to fight Islamophobia, H.E.
